GEP's Expedition in Zanzibar

In a partnership between the Green Economy Partnership (GEP) and the Government of Zanzibar, our collaborative efforts aim to support pioneering carbon abatement projects. These projects hold the promise of generating Certified Emissions Reductions (CERs) while unlocking investment opportunities in forestry, agriculture, blue carbon, and various other realms of sustainability.

With proactive engagement, the GEP actively explores and monitors opportunities for the development of carbon abatement or reduction projects within Zanzibar. The focus is on creating tradable CERs that contribute to the global movement towards a sustainable future.

Beyond the scientific and environmental aspirations, the collaboration between the Government and GEP is rooted in a shared commitment to community well-being. It is agreed that the projects must extend positive influences to the communities, ensuring real and tangible benefits reach those who call Zanzibar home.
