Embark on a transformative exploration of Uganda, where the serene landscapes of the Victoria Basin and the enchanting Mabira Forest beckon. Nestled in the heart of East Africa, Uganda unveils its natural treasures, inviting us to delve into the realms of forestry, peatlands for carbon capture, blue carbon, and sustainable agriculture.
In a powerful alliance between the Green Economy Partnership (GEP) and the Government of Uganda, our collaborative journey is dedicated to exploring carbon abatement projects. This endeavor not only holds the promise of generating Certified Emissions Reductions (CERs) but also opens doors to investment opportunities in forestry, agriculture, blue carbon, and other sustainability-focused endeavors.
As we traverse the Victoria Basin and Mabira Forest, we navigate through diverse ecosystems, rivers, and lush forests, unveiling the untapped potential for environmental conservation. The GEP, in close collaboration with Uganda's Government, actively seeks and monitors opportunities for the development of carbon abatement or reduction projects. These projects aim to create tradable CERs, contributing to global climate initiatives.
Uganda, a small, landlocked, low-income country, resonates with the commitment to ensuring that these projects positively influence local communities. Recognizing the socio-economic context, the Government and GEP have agreed that our initiatives must bring about real and tangible benefits to the people.
Join us on this impactful journey, where sustainability meets exploration, and every step leaves a lasting footprint of positive change in the heart of Uganda.
